RealD 3-D student competition

Calling all 3-D artists—RealD is pleased to launch the Savannah Film Festival’s first student 3-D competition. As the global leader in 3-D technology, we are always on the lookout for 3-D innovators, creative storytellers and VFX masters. If you have a 3-D vision, show us what you’ve got. Two talented artists will win a trip for two to Los Angeles for a Hollywood movie premiere and a visit to the RealD headquarters in Beverly Hills.

 

Two categories

  • Best 3-D Live Action/Animated Short
  • Best 3-D Stereoscopic VFX

 

Projects will be judged on the following criteria:

  • 3-D quality
  • 3-D technical skills 
  • Demonstrated understanding of 3-D theory
  • Creative use of 3-D, visual
  • Creative use of 3-D, storytelling

 

Submissions will be accepted Oct. 30, 2013-Aug. 1, 2014. All entries must be submitted through the Savannah Film Festival’s Withoutabox. To submit their work, SCAD students must email filmfest@scad.edu to request a Withoutabox waiver code. The completion date for the submitted projects must be after Jan. 1, 2013, and projects must have been completed while the student was enrolled at SCAD. Submissions should be on DVD or accessible via Vimeo link. All projects must have a running time of 10 minutes or less. Twelve to 14 projects will be selected for consideration and screening during the 2014 Savannah Film Festival.
