Actress Natalie Dormer portrays Margaery Tyrell, the would-be queen, on the award-winning HBO series “Game of Thrones,” now in its third season.

This fall, Dormer will star opposite Chris Hemsworth and Olivia Wilde in director Ron Howard’s “Rush,” for Universal Pictures. The film, released on Sept. 20, 2013, follows the infamous Formula 1 rivalry between Niki Lauda and James Hunt. Following “Rush,” Dormer will be seen opposite Brad Pitt, Michael Fassbender and Cameron Diaz in director Ridley Scott’s “The Counselor.” Written by Cormac McCarthy, the film, to be released on Nov. 15, follows a lawyer’s struggles in the world of dangerous drug cartels. Dormer is currently working on “Mockingjay: Parts 1 and 2,” the third and fourth installments in the “Hunger Games” series. Dormer will star as Cressida, a resident director from the Capitol who joined the rebellion in District 13. She has also completed work on the indie film “Posh,” with Max Irons and fellow “Hunger Games” cast member Sam Claflin, as well as the indie dramas “Fencewalker” and “A Long Way Home.”

Dormer is well-known for her starring role as Anne Boleyn on Showtime’s hit period drama, “The Tudors.” She recently appeared in the recurring role of Irene Adler, on CBS’ Sherlock Holmes rendition “Elementary.” Other past television credits include recurring roles on two BBC series, “The Fades” and “Silk.”

In film, Dormer was last seen in The Weinstein Company’s “W.E.,” from writer/director Madonna. Other film credits include Marvel’s “Captain America: The First Avenger,” “City of Life,” “Flawless” with Demi Moore and Michael Caine, and “Casanova.”

In March 2010, Dormer made her stage debut at London’s Young Vic theater, playing the role of Mitzi in the play “Sweet Nothings.” She returned to the theater in 2012, starring in the title role of “After Miss Julie” by Patrick Marber.

In March 2013, Dormer played the Lady Door in the radio dramatization of Neil Gaiman’s “Neverwhere,” alongside Benedict Cumberbatch and James McAvoy.

She currently resides in London.
