Building Arrakis and Beyond: In Conversation with Patrice Vermette
Variety senior artisans editor Jazz Tangcay sits down with Academy Award-winning production designer Patrice Vermette for an illuminating exploration of the artistry behind some of contemporary cinema’s most extraordinary worlds. A frequent collaborator of Denis Villeneuve, Vermette won the Academy Award, BAFTA, and Art Directors Guild Award for Dune and has brought his singular visual imagination to Dune: Part Two, Arrival, Sicario, Prisoners, Enemy, Vice, Bardo: False Chronicle of a Handful of Truths, and more. Vermette will take audiences inside his creative process and offer a special look inside his latest collaboration with Villeneuve — the highly anticipated Dune: Part Three — as Vermette discusses returning to Arrakis and expanding the monumental cinematic universe he helped create.
