Club Kid
SCAD Savannah Film Festival Special 35mm Presentation
Jordan Firstman makes his feature directorial debut with this intoxicating crowd-pleaser brimming with equal parts humor and heart, following a thirtysomething nightlife promoter (Firstman) whose life changes in a flash when he meets the 10-year-old son (Reggie Absolom) he never knew he had. Featuring a stellar ensemble of non-professional actors and set against the vivid backdrop of contemporary New York City nightlife, Club Kid transcends the prototypical father-son story to become something entirely its own — emerging as an endlessly surprising and bittersweet emotional knockout that finds universality in the subject of parenthood and family. An A24 release.
Director, writer, and actor Jordan Firstman will be presented with the Rising Star Director Award. A Q&A with Firstman immediately follows the screening.
