Panels and Workshops

For the first time ever, Critical Darlings is going live! Film critics Alison Willmore (Vulture) and Richard Lawson (Premiere Party) are bringing their acclaimed podcast to the SCAD Savannah Film Festival for a sharp, spirited discussion of the stories already shaping awards season — from the Oscars to the Globes to a bunch of other awards that no one really understands but that are still fun to talk about! Is Inde Navarette a shoe-in? Will The Odyssey actually dominate? Why is everyone sleeping on Minions and Monsters for Best Picture? All of this and more, along with a few surprises.

About Critical Darlings
A production of Blank Check Productions, the team behind the beloved Blank Check with Griffin & David, Critical Darlings is a podcast dedicated to going deep on the movies everyone is talking about, from festival discoveries to buzzy blockbusters. Produced by SCAD alum Benjamin Frisch (M.F.A., sequential art, 2011; B.F.A., sequential art, 2009), this event is a chance to experience Critical Darlings as never before — live, unfiltered, and surrounded by fellow movie obsessives.
