The Matrix
At the center of one of cinema’s great journeys down the rabbit hole is Keanu Reeves, whose effortlessly cool, searching, and ultimately transcendent performance as Neo helped create an action hero for a new millennium. A disaffected hacker who discovers that reality itself is a beautifully constructed lie, Neo is pulled into an underground war for humanity alongside Laurence Fishburne’s enigmatic Morpheus and Carrie-Anne Moss’s indelible Trinity. With The Matrix, Lana and Lilly Wachowski fused cyberpunk, martial arts, philosophy, anime, and action cinema into a revolutionary vision that instantly rewrote the rules of the blockbuster film.
Actor Keanu Reeves will be presented with the Legend of Cinema Award. An In Conversation event with Reeves immediately follows the screening.
