The Testament of Ann Lee
Premiering to acclaim at the Venice Film Festival and shot on glorious 70mm, The Testament of Ann Lee is a bold and visionary musical inspired by the life of Ann Lee, the founder of the Shakers, a radical religious movement that shook the foundations of pre-Revolutionary America. At its heart is a powerhouse performance from Amanda Seyfried, whose luminous presence and emotional intensity anchor the film’s sweeping blend of history, spirituality, and song. A daring reimagining of the biopic, the film is a portrait of the strength of community, offering a stirring look at a compelling and complex figure. A Searchlight Pictures release.
Actor Amanda Seyfried will be presented with the Vanguard Award. A Q&A with Seyfried immediately follows the screening.
